Description
Along the central California coast, the Santa Lucia Mountains plunge steeply into the Pacific Ocean in a region known as Big Sur. Along the cliffs, the Pacific Coast Highway (or Cabrillo Highway) weaves along the picturesque terrain, unveiling view after view. At a small pull-out along the road, a clump of grass sits at the cliff's edge, while foam from breaking waves mingles with the rocks of the coast. As the first rays of light reach the water, the hazy remnants of the marine layer burn off from the shaded cliffside.
